Three Important Quality of Life Issues Addressed
• Saves precious drinking water
• Provides a water saving recreational facility to the community and
• Creates good paying jobs in the San Gabriel Valley.

The Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District in partnership with the State Water Resources Control Board and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
announced the initiation of a project what will support the goals of the Governor’s proposed Safe, Clean, Reliable Drinking Water Supply Act of 2008 by increasing water conservation and enabling more efficient use of water, following on the heels of the Governor’s June 2008 statewide drought declaration and the USGVMWD’s July local drought declaration.
  
The Upper District ground breaking event announced the funding of a water recycling project which will save potable water by making recycled water available for landscaping and irrigation.
  
Attending included  Mary Ann Lutz Chairwoman of the Los Angeles
Regional Water Quality Control Board, State Senator Gloria Romero, State Assemblyman Ed Hernandez, Southern California Metropolitan Water District, and local elected official, leaders of the San Gabriel Valley water industry and members of various youth sports teams that use the complex.
