Kaiser Permanente has entered into a 10-year lease to relocate more than 1,000 employees - from its Glendale and Pasadena administrative offices – to 3100 Thornton Avenue, which is located within blocks of the Burbank Airport.
”There were many facets to this complex negotiation, and each party stands to benefit from the result, including the City of Burbank,” said Daniel D. Isenberg, senior corporate real estate manager of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. “The increase of Burbank’s workforce population will give local businesses a shot in the arm.” As an introduction to Burbank’s offerings, employees were given a list of shops and services available within a one-mile radius of their new work site.
“The move to this building demonstrates Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to employees’ quality of work life, the environment, and the communities where we serve,” said Jerry Fleming, senior vice president, national health plan manager, California. “The centralization of Kaiser Permanente’s Marketing, Sales, Service, & Administration (MSSA) group will create greater opportunities for more effective teamwork and operations at this new MSSA campus.”
The lease transaction was a collaborative effort between Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., General Electric, and 3100 Partners, LLC, a joint venture partnership with M. David Paul Associates and Shorenstein Properties. .
